Apologies

Hey guys! It's been a little more than a week since I've posted on here and that's because my whole family and I have been sick since last week with the flu/strep/pneumonia... you name it, and someone had it. And I hate being sick cause I haven't been able to do anything! But now that I'm better and Christmas is over and I don't have school, I can post everything that needs to be posted! I've had to push back reviews particularly because of being sick and this whole situation sucks. I'm sorry for being sick and failing at my duties as a blogger. Hopefully y'all can forgive me and now I'm off to post tons of make-up posts.

This week I'm waiting for Rook by Sharon Cameron. It's literally a book I stumbled upon and don't really have a lot of ideas what the book is about but that's what basically makes what to read it. That and the fact that it does sound good! My thoughts on this book can be summed up by the picture below that someone posted on Goodreads in response to this book and the description. No one really knows what's going on with the book buuuut.....

This week I'm waiting for Confess by Colleen Hoover. Seriously, I love her books and on a random note, my library got all of her books this weeks. I literally flipped when I saw that! Okay back on topic…She's an author I automatically read and the cover to this book is gorgeous. There. I'm also very intrigued with what/how this book will turn out! Now go read her books if you haven't and Happy Reading.

Here's my reaction to seeing this book go up and the library fiasco thing. I think everyone should take a moment to do a happy dance for whatever makes them happy. In this case - books!

Weekly Musings: Street Teams

This week's topic is...Street Teams!

Street teams for books are great for everyone! As the author, they have a group of people to get the word out about anything to do with their books. As the street team member, you get to know things ahead of time, get teasers for books, get arcs, and much more!

Did you know you don't have to be a blogger to be on a street team?

See I didn't know this until after I became a blogger but after being on a couple street teams I found out you didn't have to be! And for the most part, a lot of the stuff from the street teams I'm on never makes it onto this blog. 

This is because... I get teasers for books that are only made for the street team's eyes (which is favorite part), asking to announce a deal for one of their books (which I use twitter for), or basically anything else.

I mean of course I do cover reveals or get some arcs and review them here, but everything that can be done on a blog can be done just as well without a member having a blog when it comes to street teams.

Do you have a facebook, twitter, google+, goodreads, tumblr, or some other social site account? Cause that's all ya need and most people I know on street teams have no blogs and use these sites to help out their authors.

Did you know that there is actually a "best part" of being on a street team (at least for me)?

There is and it's totally amazing to be a part of! Two of my street teams are very interactive. Meaning I basically have chats about normal everyday things everyday with the author and the other members of the street team! We will talk about random things, just say good morning, or have posts that start with "today absolutely sucks please tell me something happy". It is so much fun and so amazing to be close to so many other people. It's really like another family, albeit a bookish family, but one nonetheless.

I had no idea that when I joined street teams I'd find another family. And street team families are awesome. The connections I make with other authors and people are simply the best! I'm always so happy to be able to connect with them and these connections made are lasting ones.

So basically... Anyone can join a street team and when you do, you make new connections and gain a new family and then get perks for being part of that family. So go join a street team today if you haven't already. And if you haven't found a family with ones that you are a part of, I'm sorry to say - go find a new family (I'm kidding, not all are the same!). Happy Reading.

Monday Recs. - 6/9/14

Hey guys! Being sick + computer screens = not going to happen. If that wasn't a big hint, then I'll tell ya, I'm sick. And it really really sucks because I haven't done a few posts because sitting in front of a computer while being sick just makes it worse - at least for me. So that's why I missed posts and I absolutely HATE missing them, I feel like I'm letting everyone down!

But to the point at task, before I get a headache from typing right now, is that this week's Monday Recommendation is Grave Mercy (His Fair Assassin Book #1) by Robin LaFevers. I don't know if you remember but last week the Monday Recs. post was also an assassin book...I'm starting to see a trend...hmm. Anyways this book is AMAZING! It's historical fiction with assassins and magic and the two main characters are to die for! I love them so much! I highly recommend it which is, duh, why it's on Monday Recs!!!

When I read this book, this was basically what was on my mind the whole time regarding the book and it's characters **cough** Ismae & Duval! Like I'm said, I love them so much because they are both just fantastic characters to read about!

The One by Kiera Cass GIF Review

This is a series of GIFs I put together that highlighted my emotional experience/response while reading The One on the day it came out. I made it a few weeks ago and I decided to put it here because I think it's really funny. On a side note, you may need a really good internet connection to see it or it may take a few minutes to load but I think it's worth it because it's really funny!! So of course I was freaking out all day long...

And I went chasing after a copy like nobody's business...

Then I completely plowed through the book...

And low and behold the last chapter and epilogue...
