Teaser Tuesday - 10/21/14

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

Just the other day I read The Keeper's Vow by B.F. Simone. I don't know what to make of it. It's kind of a book that I hate to love. I mean I didn't really like the main character that much but I still loved the book. It's weird. I'll have a review for it sometime in the near future...anyways, Happy Reading!

"Most of the guardians work to keep people from going downside and keeping an eye on the non-human friends and in some cases integrating newly changed people into both societies. There's a department for that, but it's pretty lame. No action there-it's like, 'here is a blood bank where you can buy your ounces, and raw steaks are cheapest in these locations-blah blah-here's a pamphlet-blah blah-give us a call if you want to join the: Cry About Your Adjustment Problems group'." Allison looked up and shrugged at Katie's blinking eyes. "What? It was the worst field trip of my life."

Summary: From the day he showed up on her front porch, he desperately needed three things: a new beginning, a place to belong, and someone to stand beside him.

By the time she figured that out, it was too late.

In a world where being half-vampire is a dark secret that tears families apart, 16 year-old Katie Watts must untangle the web of lies that is her so-called life. No one is who she thought they were. Her father is keeping secrets, and everyone knows the darker truth except her. She has no direction, no answers, and—when she searches for the truth—no home.

As the web untangles, the truth pulls Katie and Tristan closer together they find themselves connected in more ways than she can believe. But—is honesty worth more than blissful ignorance? Can she live with the truths that begin with her dead mother and end with The Keeper’s Vow?
