Teaser Tuesday - 8/5/14

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

Hey y'all! I didn't do a Monday Recs. yesterday cause I was just too exhausted after 6 hrs of dance and just went to sleep. But I'm not tired today soooo this week's teaser is - bare with me please - from Obsidian by Jennifer Armentrout. Didn't I have that as my Monday Recs. post last week? Ah yes I did, but since the fifth and final book came out today in this series and no Barnes & Nobles or Targets by me have ANY copies yet I'm kinda of moping around here waiting for them to call me saying the shipments came and that means I'm in a very obsessed mode about the series right now. Okay? Okay.

"Did you get hit by an ice cream carton?"
"Yes."
"Damn. And I missed that."
"I'm sure Dee would love to do a replay for you."
I smiled a little at that.
"Oh, you think this is funny." Dee burst into the living room, car keys in hand. "I should be making you go to the store and get me Rocky Road, but because I like Katy and value her well-being, I'm going to get it myself."
That would mean I'd be left alone...Oh hell to the no. "Can't Daemon go?"
Daemon smiled at me.

Summary: Starting over sucks.

When we moved to West Virginia right before my senior year, I'd pretty much resigned myself to thick accents, dodgy internet access, and a whole lot of boring... until I spotted my hot neighbor, with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up.

And then he opened his mouth.

Daemon is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. We do not get along. At all. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something... unexpected happens.

The hot alien living next door marks me.

You heard me. Alien. Turns out Daemon and his sister have a galaxy of enemies wanting to steal their abilities, and Daemon's touch has me lit up like the Vegas Strip. The only way I'm getting out of this alive is by sticking close to Daemon until my alien mojo fades.

If I don't kill him first, that is.
