Waiting On Wednesday - 7/23/14

Waiting on Wednesday is hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine.

The book I'm waiting for this week is called This Shattered World (Starbound #2) by Amie Kaufman & Meagan Spooner. I absolutely loved the first book. This next book is going to feature different characters but I have high expectations for it (which I need to lower...never go into a book with high expectations just in case). You can find my review for book one HERE if ya want to see what it's about! Happy Reading!

Publication: December 23rd 2014
Summary: Jubilee Chase and Flynn Cormac should never have met.

Lee is captain of the forces sent to Avon to crush the terraformed planet's rebellious colonists, but she has her own reasons for hating the insurgents.

Rebellion is in Flynn's blood. Terraforming corporations make their fortune by recruiting colonists to make the inhospitable planets livable, with the promise of a better life for their children. But they never fulfilled their promise on Avon, and decades later, Flynn is leading the rebellion.

Desperate for any advantage in a bloody and unrelentingly war, Flynn does the only thing that makes sense when he and Lee cross paths: he returns to base with her as prisoner. But as his fellow rebels prepare to execute this tough-talking girl with nerves of steel, Flynn makes another choice that will change him forever. He and Lee escape the rebel base together, caught between two sides of a senseless war.

The stunning second novel in the Starbound trilogy is an unforgettable story of love and forgiveness in a world torn apart by war.

  1. This series has such beautiful covers! I didn't read the first book yet b/c I'm waiting for my library to get it since I really prefer to read it in physical copy but it's taking so long ugh. :( Nice pick by the way. I'm waiting for Gates of Thread and Stones, personally. ^^

    1. I love being able to have a physical copy of a book. That feeling you get when you hold a book is so great!

The Gates of Thread and Stones is on my TBR pile and it sounds so cool. It's not even funny how excited I am for that one. The whole concept and story sounds like it will be really good!
